TVS Apache 180 Overview
The Apache 180 stands out for combining a strong feature set with a relatively light 140kg kerb weight. Its 177cc engine produces 16.78 bhp and 15.5 Nm, and Sport, Urban and Rain modes give riders different engine settings to choose from. Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation and voice assist add useful functions to the LCD display. The 12-litre tank and 42 kmpl claimed mileage suit regular use, though the mileage claim is lower than some rivals.
Against the Bajaj Pulsar NS160, the Apache has less power but more torque, weighs 12kg less and has a seat 15mm lower. It is priced above the Yamaha FZ X, while offering more power and torque; the FZ X has better claimed mileage. The Apache’s single-channel ABS is a braking-safety limitation, and it lacks USB charging and under-seat storage.
- 15.5 Nm of torque gives the engine more pulling force than the Pulsar NS160.
- 42 kmpl claimed mileage helps buyers estimate fuel use, though rivals claim more.
- At 140kg, it is 12kg lighter than the Bajaj Pulsar NS160.
- A 790mm seat is lower than the Pulsar NS160’s 805mm seat.
- Bluetooth, turn-by-turn navigation and voice assist bring phone-linked functions to the LCD display.
What we like
- Strong torque for its class, with 15.5 Nm.
- Lighter and lower-seated than the Bajaj Pulsar NS160.
- Three riding modes and phone connectivity features.
- Disc brakes at both ends and tubeless tyres.
What could be better
- Single-channel ABS is less comprehensive than dual-channel ABS.
- Its 42 kmpl claimed mileage is below the listed rival claims.
- No USB charging port or under-seat storage.
Best for: Buy the Apache 180 if you want a feature-rich petrol bike with strong torque, a relatively low seat and manageable kerb weight.
