Triumph Bonneville T120 Overview

The Bonneville T120 suits buyers after a large-capacity classic cruiser for weekend and highway rides. Its 105Nm peak torque arrives at 3,500rpm, well before peak power, and the six-speed gearbox and cruise control add flexibility on longer journeys. Rain and Road riding modes give a choice of settings, while dual-channel ABS helps prevent either wheel from locking during hard braking. The 790mm seat and 236kg kerb weight are worth considering, particularly for shorter riders and slow manoeuvres.

Against the T100, the T120 offers more power and torque, but has lower claimed mileage at 21kmpl versus 24kmpl and is heavier and priced above it. The Bobber has a lower 690mm seat and is priced above the T120; the T120 also has a larger 14.5-litre tank than the Bobber’s 12-litre tank. Phone connectivity, navigation and under-seat storage are absent.

  • 105Nm at 3,500rpm puts peak torque well below the engine’s peak-power speed.
  • Dual-channel ABS helps prevent both wheels from locking during hard braking.
  • Cruise control can help maintain a set speed on longer rides.
  • A 14.5-litre tank holds more fuel than the Bonneville Bobber’s 12-litre tank.
  • The pillion gets a seat, footrests and a grab rail.

What we like

  • Strong listed torque of 105Nm.
  • Dual-channel ABS and traction control are included.
  • Rear suspension preload can be adjusted.
  • Cruise control and a USB charging port are provided.

What could be better

  • Its 236kg kerb weight may make slow manoeuvres more demanding.
  • Claimed mileage of 21kmpl is lower than the T100’s claimed 24kmpl.
  • There is no phone connectivity, navigation or under-seat storage.

Best for: Buy it if you want a well-equipped classic cruiser for longer rides and can manage its weight and 790mm seat height.
