Indian FTR 1200 Overview

The upcoming Indian FTR 1200 is a performance-focused super bike for riders looking beyond everyday commuting towards powerful highway or weekend riding. Its 1203 cc engine produces 125 bhp and 120 Nm, while dual-channel ABS helps prevent both wheels from locking during hard braking. The front and rear suspension are fully adjustable, giving riders scope to tune them for their preferences. Its 805 mm seat is lower than the Ducati Hypermotard 950’s 870 mm seat.

There are practical compromises: the 12.9-litre tank is smaller than the tanks of the listed rivals, and no mileage figure is provided to help estimate fuel costs. The Ducati Hypermotard 950 has less power and torque, while the Suzuki Hayabusa makes more power and has a larger tank. The FTR 1200 is expected to launch in December 2026 and be priced below both of them, but it is not on sale yet.

  • 125 bhp and 120 Nm provide substantial engine output for highway and weekend rides.
  • Dual-channel ABS helps prevent both wheels from locking during hard braking.
  • Fully adjustable front and rear suspension let riders tailor the setup.
  • The 805 mm seat is lower than the Ducati Hypermotard 950’s 870 mm seat.
  • A stepped pillion seat comes with footrests and a grab rail.

What we like

  • More power and torque than the Ducati Hypermotard 950.
  • Dual-channel ABS and disc brakes at both ends.
  • Adjustable suspension at the front and rear.
  • Expected to be priced below the listed Ducati Hypermotard 950 and Suzuki Hayabusa.

What could be better

  • The 12.9-litre tank is smaller than those of all listed rivals.
  • No mileage figure is provided, so fuel costs cannot yet be assessed.
  • It is upcoming and not available to buy yet.

Best for: The FTR 1200 suits riders seeking a powerful, adjustable super bike for highway and weekend use who can wait for its expected launch.
