BMW M 1000 R Overview
The BMW M 1000 R is aimed at riders who want a high-performance superbike with electronics to suit different riding conditions. Its 206.5 bhp output is paired with seven riding modes, while traction control and wheelie control add rider aids. Dual-channel ABS can help prevent either wheel from locking during hard braking, and a quickshifter makes gear changes easier without relying on the clutch for every shift.
The 830 mm seat is lower than the Aprilia RSV4 1100 Factory’s and the Ducati Panigale V4’s, though the BMW weighs more than both. The Aprilia makes more power and torque; the Panigale is also more powerful and lighter, but the BMW has the better claimed mileage of the two. Its listed price sits below the Kawasaki Ninja H2 SX SE and above the Ducati Streetfighter V4. There is no under-seat storage, and phone connectivity and navigation are optional.
