Aprilia SR 160 Overview
The SR 160 suits buyers wanting a more powerful alternative to a 125cc scooter without moving to a motorcycle. Its listed 11.11 bhp and 100 km/h top speed give it more performance headroom than the Aprilia SR 125, while the CVT means no manual gear changes. An 11-litre under-seat space, USB port and adjustable rear shock add everyday usefulness. The 780 mm seat may feel tall to some shorter riders.
The trade-offs include 35 kmpl claimed mileage, a 6-litre tank and a rear drum brake; its single-channel ABS provides anti-lock assistance at one wheel only. The TVS NTorq 150 is more powerful, has higher claimed mileage and is priced below the SR 160. The SR 175 also offers more power and better claimed mileage, but the entry SR 160 is priced below it. It sits between the 125cc scooters and these more powerful rivals.
